The one commonality in great players golf swings is the transition phase. The change in direction between backswing and downswing is key and sadly the bit that most amateurs get wrong.

As with anything in a golf swing you now have to work out if you are physically capable of creating the movement. If not then you MUST work on improving your biomechanics.
